Making positive changes and improving life!
Written on 17 April 2009 by Neil Wood. 1 comment.A friend called this morning and told me of the numerous positive changes she’s made in her life since November. It was absolutely amazing to hear the energy, excitement, passion and self-esteem. She told me that she had fallen into a rut for awhile due to health issues. She had also surrounded herself with people who didn’t care much about their health, fitness, goals or living life to the fullest. As a result she gained over 30 pounds, wasted hours watching mindless TV and felt like you know what.
But a conversation with a friend influenced her to make some changes and take charge of her life. She told me that she’s been on a roll for the last four months! She joined the local Y, takes spinning and yoga classes, walks daily, has lost the extra weight and inches and in the process gained a tremendous level of energy. She also found other people to be with who also enjoy walking and working out. What an incredible change!
Sometimes it just takes a spark to get us going. Maybe it’s a new season, like the end of winter here in New England. Maybe it’s an article or a conversation with an old friend. Maybe you get to a point and say, “that’s enough”! That small conversation was the spark to inspire my friend. I can only imagine the success she’ll experience in the next 5 years.
Take action on something you’ve been thinking about for too long. What can you accomplish in the next four weeks. Think of 5 things you want to accomplish and do at least one of them in the next four weeks. You know you’ll feel better!
You can do it. If you find a strong enough “why” then you will certainly find a “how.” Recruit a friend or two who have similar goals. You’ll feel so much better within four weeks, if you do a little bit everyday for the next 28 days. Get going and have fun!
