Time to replace some of your salespeople?

In this economy, it’s vital to have a team of salespeople who have a great work ethic, positive attitude, high energy, passion, discipline and a willingness to do those things that unsuccessful people are not willing to do. Despite the gloomy news we continue to be bombarded with 24/7, I have spoken with a handful of salespeople this week who are doing really well.

When I think about all the calls I’ve received lately from folks who sound down on their luck, I get curious. Why are some people so down yet others are plugging away, finding more sales, gaining new clients, highly motivated and continuing their track record of success? I believe a person’s success has so much to do with the character traits I noted above.

If I were a sales manager, I would be looking at my team very closely to see who is making it happen and who needs to be replaced. There are many successful salespeople available today who are looking for an opportunity with a terrific company. I would be creating a Dream Team of experienced, disciplined talent to work through this economic cycle and go gangbusters while others are scrambling, whining and moaning!

Work hard right now! Keep your promises, ask for referrals, go the extra mile and share your great attitude. If it’s not great, then you’ve got work to do. Remember, your attitude and activities are YOUR responsibility. Take action, share your confidence and positive thinking, act as a coach to someone in need of a boost and Aim for the stars!
